Course Description:
Candidates will learn NRA policies and procedures, training methodology, course organization, and how to prepare to instruct individuals on the responsible and ethical use of a firearm for Personal Protection In The Home. Each candidate is evaluated based on his/her ability to handle firearms with confidence, use of appropriate training aids, and adherence to the course lesson plans. All learning objectives will be accomplished utilizing the teaching philosophies expected of NRA Certified Instructors. Class conducted at the NRA Range.
*NOTE: PPITH Instructor Training Candidates must be NRA Certified Pistol Instructors and must pass a pre-qual.
All course participants must pass a Personal Protection in the Home Instructor Course Pre-Qualification, which will take place on Sunday, June 8th at the NRA Range in Fairfax, VA from 6:30am-7:30am. Classroom instruction will begin at 8am (in the classroom of the NRA Range) and go until 5:00pm. Pre-qualification information can be found here.
Tuition cost for NRA Personal Protection Inside The Home Instructor Course is only $250 per person. (This does not include pre-qual associated costs of ammunition, range use fee if you don’t have a NRA Range Membership, or the one-time $10 fee for an NRA Range Card if you do not already have one).
Pre-payment is required for all instructor candidates attending this course. Failure to attend scheduled training forfeits tuition paid. Refunds are only given if course is cancelled by Capital Defense Instruction, LLC.
