Course Description:
This course is taught by a NRA Certified Training Counselor. Candidates will learn NRA policies and procedures, basic public speaking skills, training methodology, use of a training team, training aids, course organization, budget considerations, and how to prepare to instruct an initial basic pistol course to individuals with little or no experience.
Each candidate will be provided with the appropriate lesson plans and basic course student packet. Course includes role-play with candidates working both individually and in teams. Each candidate is evaluated on his/her ability to safety handle firearms with confidence, use of appropriate training aids, and adherence to the basic pistol lesson plans. All learning objectives will be accomplished utilizing the teaching philosophies expected of NRA Certified Instructors.
*NOTE: Attendance all three days is required.
All course participants must pass a NRA Pistol Instructor Pre-Qualification, which will take place on Sunday, August 24th at the NRA Range in Fairfax, VA from 2pm-4pm or Monday, August 25th from 12noon -2pm, unless otherwise scheduled. Course pre-qualifications can be found here.
Tuition cost for NRA Certified Pistol Instructor Course is only $350 per person. (This does not include pre-qual associated costs of ammunition, range use fee if you don’t have a NRA Range Membership, or the one-time $10 fee for an NRA Range Card if you do not already have one).

NO WALK-INS ALLOWED -Preregistration and prepayment is required for everyone attending this NRA Certified Pistol Instructor Course. Failure to attend scheduled training will forfeit tuition paid. There are no refunds unless course is cancelled by Capital Defense Instruction, LLC.
